When you install a roof lantern into a flat roof it lets light flood in to a room creating a completely different living space with natural light and addition ventilation when constructed with built in roof vents. As well a great views of the sky above and stars at night, they let up to 3 times more light into a room than traditional vertical windows.
All our lantern roofs can be fitted with Active Blue self cleaning glass and come with warm edge spacer bars and argon gas to further improve the thermal efficiency. Where you want to get light in to a room but require privacy at the same time we can install obscure glass with various levels of privacy.
Whatever style you choose they all come in a wide range of colours from traditional white to the ever more popular anthracite grey and black often specified on many modern extensions and new builds.
Lantern roofs are also used to create the ever increasingly popular Orangeries. These give you more of a traditional extension look while letting large quantities of light into the living space. They also give you areas of solid internal walls and ceilings for lighting, standing furniture and pictures, again giving the appearance of a traditional room whilst still allowing natural light to illuminate the whole area.
This latest “Stratus” aluminium lantern roof couples sleek contemporary looks with minimal slimline glazing bars and a ridge 66% smaller than standard lantern roofs, allowing light to flood into your homes interior. These roofs come with thermal break technology (Polyamide nylon, glass composite thermal breaks are 533 times more thermally efficient than aluminium), keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. These roofs are up to 65% more thermally efficient than conventional roof systems.
All our stunning roof lanterns come with as standard:
