Residence 9 is a new window system designed to replicate the 19th century flush sash timber window system.
It can be considered for use in Conservation Areas, due to its authentic wooden appearance. This is a top end luxury window brand that will appeal to any homeowner wishing to enhance their property. It comes with either 28mm double or 44mm triple glazed units with excellent thermal and acoustic performance, achieving one of the highest classifications on the weather test due to its robust design.
Residence 9 is manufactured from a modern composite material and all products are hand finished and made by craftsmen. It comes in a wide range of heritage colours as well as the traditional white. All the easy clean internal rebates are also foiled to match giving that high end maintenance free appearance even when the windows are open.
Residence 9 will allow you to replace your windows and doors in your cottage, townhouse and traditional property without losing the character, appearance and feel of the period.
You can personalise your Residence 9 windows with a choice of handles and peg stays. The Monkeytail and Pear Drop styles were popular designs of the period. If your room is more contempary you can specify the more modern finishes such as Chrome, Antique Black and Graphite.
Traditional looking Butt hinges can be specified further give that original wooden window appearance. Modern windows often lack this character as the hinges are hidden, and finishing touches such as these help to maintain an authentic kerbside appearance.
All our Georgian bar bespoke sections are hand applied by craftsmen to create that authentic Georgian Latticework found in traditional period properties. The moudings used accurately replicate the deep decorative detailling inside and the chamfered putty line outside.
The Residence 9 windows come with an option for mechanical sash joints to give them that authentic timber appearance. The mechanical joints require finesse and attention to detail that can only be achieved by craftsmenwho are masters of their trade. Only by replacing the mass production machinery with craftsmen can you replicate the traditional jointing features which make the Residence 9 windows stand out from their modern mitred and welded alternatives.
Period houses in the 18th & 19th centurys often had large grand bay windows. You can authentically recreate these ornate cornerposts and joints with the Residence 9 window system.
19th century windows were always painted and never stained, so Residence 9 is available in a range of traditional colours as shown. The colours on the Residence 9 windows are continued through the “easy clean” rebates unlike modern UPVC alternatives. Colours can also be mixed, so you could for example have “Irish Oak” on the outside but have “Cotswold Biscuit” on the inside to match your kitchen decor, or black frames and white sashes to give that Tudor cottage effect.
In today’s modern world it’s hard to avoid noise from outside, whether it’s from a main road, aircraft flight paths or local industry.By specifying triple glazing along with Residence 9’s nine chamber frame design you can dramatically reduce noise pollution as well as improving the thermal insulation with our argon filled units and warm edge spacer bars.
